We strive to carry furniture of fine craftsmanship that is made to endure for generations, and Trailway Tables has been crafting for many years.3

The founder of Trailway is Mrs. King's cousin, and we thoroughly enjoy partnering with them to provide you with quality tables that you make many fond memories around.
We have many styles available on the floor to show you some options and that you could take home with you the day that you are here. You also have the possibility to completely customize your set to your specific styles and needs.

Each piece of furniture begins with the wood. The beauty of the solid hardwood furniture is that each plank used is unique. The natural variations in color and grain occurring in these pieces of furniture attest to that fact that the piece is genuine solid hardwood. 

Trailway tables has spent years perfecting their techniques and styles to provide the finest dining furniture. Each edge of each board is made to fit perfectly with the next. The boards are matched (and numbered) for grain and color. The holes are drilled precisely for pins before assembling slides, base plates and aprons. 

Then, the tabletops undergo further sanding to prepare them for finishing. 

Much time is spent to ensure that all surfaces are ultra smooth before the staining process to achieve the perfect stain and finishing possible. 

Each piece of furniture is handcrafted carefully with attention to the details to create a beautiful heritage piece that will last for generations.

Elm Wood

The grain is so different and unpredictable that it draws your attention.  It rivals the quartersawn white oak for visual interest.

While you may not have heard of elm wood being used for fine furniture by the Amish that is primarily because of the toughness of the wood.  In years past Elm wood was used to make wooden cart wheels and wagon bed because of its durability. The solidness of the wood make it almost impossible to hand cut and hard on machine blades. Elm also lost popularity due to an incurable fungus that has affected Elm trees.

With all of it's fine qualities: hard, durable, with a beautiful grain...elm wood has all my recent attention.

Anticipating Winter

We are enjoying this wonderful weather and soaking up all the sun rays possible while the weather in November is so kind to us.  It's so warm out it's about to give me spring fever. 

While the outside is fooling us into thinking winter is still a while away, inside the showroom we have practically all our Christmas out and in all it's glory, we are anticipating snow like weather in the future. 

Copper wire lights

We've been loving the copper wire lights in the store. They add so much charm wherever they are added. In a lantern, jar, wrapped on a baby Christmas tree, to make a 2 dimensional tree on a wall. All the possibilities they offer excite me. 

Today, I used them to spruce up a 18" soft needle pine candle ring. 

This tutorial is simple enough. 

what you need: 

1 candle ring, 

1 package of battery operated Christmas lights. 

  With a little time and 5' copper wire lights this candle ring took charming to a new level. 

Add a lantern on top and you have the perfect centerpiece.
