Spring is here, the flowers are blooming - and it's time to plant flower beds.

Here is a list of our most frequented greenhouses in the area.

Fisher’s Greenhouse

311 N Star Rd, Strasburg,  Pa 17579   P:(717) 687-8720

This is our most recent found greenhouse located near Sight and Sound with reasonable prices and lots of variety. Our favorite place to buy succulents.

Horst Greenhouse

1194 E Earl Rd, East Earl, PA 17519   P: 717-354-4825

This greenhouse has good quality plants and we like them for their houseplants. They have a nice variety of house plants and other plants.

Hess Greenhouse

302 Hess Road, Leola, PA 17540

This is a small Amish greenhouse with very personable staff, they are one of Miriam’s favorite greenhouses (along with Fishers) They are only open until June so make a trip soon.

Ken’s Garden

3552 W Newport Rd, Ronks, Pa 17572   P:717-768-3922

The most frequented greenhouse due to it’s locality, but more than that, they always have the friendliest staff paired with a beautiful variety in household plants, shrubs, and bushes.

Rohrer Seeds

2472 Old Philadelphia Pike, Smoketown, Pa 17576    P: 717-299-2571

A great place to buy your seed and bird feed. This is where Miriam buys meal worms to feed “her” blue birds.

Shenk’s Greenhouse

2199 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, Pa 17602    P: 717-397-0430

This is the best place to buy vegetable plants and herbs at the best price (except for maybe roadside stands).

Wrap around bedroom set

 This bed has been around for quite some time, and one of the first beds we've had. 

Aptly named, because the bed frame wraps around the mattress.

I (Lisa) have memories of this bed (in Provincial stain) as my parent's bed,  and if they were out of stock and a customers wanted one... my dad was known to sell it out of their own bedroom.  My mom would come back to a mattress on the floor.

The wrap around bed has done well, and will be entering into retirement this fall.

So if you've been eyeing it for years, you'll miss it if you wait. Orders will need to be placed before our fall open house to ensure that you get this particular style of bed.

Oceanside Island

In this post we will be featuring the Oceanside Island. 

The Oceanside island is classic with flat panel with a touch of detail in the drawer fronts and doors. 

The Island itself has bun feet to add class and style.

Roseburg Island

The Roseburg Island has a modern raised panels with turned legs.  This island collection is the most like the Turned Leg Islands with a classier flair.

Hayloft Candle Barn

One of our favorite places to go to get out of the house without spending lots of money.

The pond has a deck the whole way around it from which you can feed the duck and fish. The boys love to run around it... after they have fed the animals.  

The goose seemed extra noisy this visit, and the swans were putting finishing touches to their nest which was cradling seven eggs! The favorites were the alpaca and donkey, 

Often when we stop by we'll purchase an ice cream cone. They have some of the best ice cream, only several flavors but it helps with the decision making :) 

The boys were disappointed that we couldn't get ice cream - but we stopped by on a Sunday.

And if you are familiar with the area, most local places are closed on Sundays, as are we. 

Sundays are our day of rest, worship, and family time.

I should mention that they also have a store filled with candles, home decor, and gifts you might find interesting.  Typically, we go for the animals and ice cream, and spend all our time there. :)

Cabin Creek Collection

We are crushing on pink today with the Cabin Creek Bedroom Collection. 

the Feminine Blush Rosette Bedding accented with metal wall art pieces make a gorgeous bedroom with the perfect balance.

The simple gallery wall above the bed has an unexpected wall lantern filled with hydrangeas to add visual interest.

The Mr&Mrs sign make fabulous wedding gifts that can then make a wonderful piece of wall art.

The Cabin creek bed can be purchased with or without underbed storage.  They have 3 drawers on either side,giving you more storage than a regular sized dresser without taking up more floor space. 

The simple lines of this bedroom had made it a favorite in the King family, and three of us have it for our rooms at home. 

String lights are all the rage for outdoor living, but we think they are quite cozy for a bedroom.  The Cabin Creek Bedroom looks grand when we are closing up for the evening before we unplug them.

Traditional Raised Panel Island

If you are needing extra storage in the kitchen and/or seating...may we recommend a kitchen island.

In this post you'll only be seeing different sizing and several options of the Traditional raised Panel Islands. As always, kitchen islands are available in different wood species, stain colors, and have a variety of other options to make the Island of your choice to best suit you and your family's needs.

 You are also able to choose different styles and sizes of tops. 

 The pull out shelf option is a great choice so one doesn't lose things in the back of the cabinet.  These shelves make everything in your cabinet easily accessible. 

and, the often used option in our showroom is the double trash can drawer.  Instead of having your trashcan out in the open, you can now tactfully hide it in your Island and have space for a recycling container too.

Island Top Options

When looking to add a Island to your space you will be able to choose from several different styles of tops.  All top styles are available in varies sizes.

1" island top

The one inch Island top is a standard top, you can choose the type of wood and stain color either to match or to in a contrasting stain to make even more of a statement.  

Butcher block Top.

A butcher block top adds an organic warmth in the room, if left unstained it will be treated only with food grade safe oils making it like a giant cutting board.  

Tile Top

Not only do you have five different tile options to choose from, you can also choose between these two edge profiles to get the right style for your home. 

Rough Sawn Top

This top has farmhouse character with enough of distressing that you'll be able to use it and not worry about the extra dings and nicks it gets - you are just adding to it's story and character.
