Sutter Mills table

We can't take credit for all the beauty in this room!
These photos come from one of our guests, who did a lovely job selecting creative lighting and beautiful accent pieces for her dining room!

What lovely memories we make when we choose to do life together, and often these moments can happen around the dining room table with family and friends.

Please feel free to share photos of your homes with #mykingsacres
so we can see your style and how you combine the products
you purchase here at Kings Acres with other finds.

Caring for your Hardwood Furniture

All of our furniture is made of quality hardwood. You don't need to be obsessive to take care of hardwood furniture, you only need to care.

Here are several tips for keeping your furniture looking fine for generations.

Humidity Control
- Keep the humidity in your home
  between 40%-60%.

Water Resistant
- Wipe up those spills and condensation,
don't allow moisture to sit on your
furniture for an extended period of time.

Water Based Cleaner
- Keep the chemicals away.
  We suggest wiping your furniture
with a clean damp cloth and occasionally,
a water based cleaner and polish.
We sell our favorite, ask us for a sample.

You will find natural variations on all your furniture purchased at Kings,
such as knots where tree branches grew.

Character markings do not affect the integrity of your furniture
but prove the use of genuine hardwood, with all its charming irregularities.

Outdoor Dinner Party

On a beautiful spring evening, we hosted an outdoor dinner party for the employees at King's Acres.

We ate delicious food straight off the grill, talked, and laughed until the sun went down.

Then we made s'mores and told stories around the fire ring.

Roasting marshmallows is serious business, apparently :)

Don't worry, many more porch parties will be happening this summer!

Small Tables in Small Spaces

The Arlington table is a perfect little table for small spaces!

A dining room needs good lighting, comfortable chairs, and a properly sized table to fit the room.

The Arlington 36"x48" table is popular because it fits the small spaces, comfortably seats 4 people without being extended.

The option to extend the table an additional two feet gives more flexibility to the amount of people you can host, without having a table too large for your space.

May your time spent around the table be filled with delicious dining experiences.

Sonora Hickory Table Collection

"Spread love wherever you go.
Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier."
-Mother Teresa

We redecorated the Sonora Hickory Collection, adding a few touches of red for Valentines Day.
You can easily refresh your home for a holiday by adding splashes of color.

Interesting Facts About Hickory Wood:
Hickory wood has a higher density than most woods, making it very durable.
The grain pattern is mostly straight, tight, and more subtle than oak.
Because of its resiliency, in the past, it was used to make airplanes. Today it is used for utility items such as axes, hammers, and shovels, as well as, paddles, drumsticks, and fine furniture.

Easton Pike Dining Collection

A twist on the old classic, we've seen Oak furniture in this color tones for years.

In fact, back when we first opened this was the only stain option our customers had for years! There was a collective sigh of relief of many when different options became available.  New stain options allowed each to show off their style preferences.
Fast forward another 10 years, and it's refreshing to see a twist on the traditional stain option.
We styled this collection with a stained hutch and corner cabinet and added a bit of farmhouse style by painting the table white and adding a glaze on top to accent the grain pattern from the oak wood.
As always: all our furniture is made in America and you can customize each piece to be ordered in the wood type and stain  of your choice.

Extend-a-Bench

If you love hosting people and struggle to find seating, let us recommend a bench that extends much like an extendable kitchen table.

It doesn't take much space, but they can seat up to six adults.
There are many styles available to fit any home.
As all our furniture, they are available in multiple types of wood and stains to compliment your existing furniture or to complete the set you are currently ordering (or eyeballing)

Sutter Mills Table

With the roughsawn top and breadboard ends, The Sutter Mills has been an attention grabber since we first put it in the showroom.  We have typically carried it in Rustic Cherry wood, and this time chose a Knotty Oak wood in a light stain - and are really enjoying the contrast.
The lighter stain really accent the rough sawn marks beautifully.

No longer do you have to obsess about you brand new table being babied to keep all the scratches away...the extra scratches just add to the character and help you remember the special moments happening around your table.
