Sunflower Summer

We have a gorgeous black wall in the showroom, where this white barn canvas practically pops off the wall.  It makes quite the statement with white and wood accents white bright yellow sunflowers. 

We recently (personally) purchased a beautiful children's book for our almost back to school first grader called Sunflower Summer  by Wendy Dunham (not an affiliate link, we just love the book and illustrations!) 

We love how summery the sunflowers feel that lend themselves to your early fall displays. 

Hang on just a bit to the last rays of summer and prepare yourself for fall. 

Large sunflower canvases tie the sunflower theme into the other walls of the section without much effort making a beautiful statement.

It's hard to believe but we are already unpacking our new Christmas products and getting our brains ready to get our festive displays in place by Labor Day (fingers crossed, we get it accomplished before then)

Shaker Crib Collection

We just received our replacement shaker crib for the showroom.

With it's weathered stain, this crib is the perfect addition to the modern nursery. 

 The color tones of it's weathered finish accent the grain of oak nicely while keeping a nice warm yet grey tone. 

We have new crib sheets to welcome home the little additions.

Also available in store is an adorable cactus print, and swiss cross pattern and the quote, 

"God knew my heart needed you." 

 See that little stuffed rabbit hanging out at the bottom of the crib?

She is one of the Hazel Village collection that joined us.

Caring for your Hardwood Furniture

All of our furniture is made of quality hardwood. You don't need to be obsessive to take care of hardwood furniture, you only need to care.

Here are several tips for keeping your furniture looking fine for generations.

Humidity Control

- Keep the humidity in your home

  between 40%-60%.

Water Resistant

- Wipe up those spills and condensation,
  don't allow moisture to sit on your
  furniture for an extended period of time.

Water Based Cleaner 

- Keep the chemicals away.
  We suggest wiping your furniture
  with a clean damp cloth and occasionally,
  a water based cleaner and polish.
  We sell our favorite, ask us for a sample.

You will find natural variations on all your furniture purchased at Kings,

such as knots where tree branches grew.

Character markings do not affect the integrity of your furniture

but prove the use of genuine hardwood, with all its charming irregularities.

Cheddar & Sour Cream Pretzels

Cheddar & Sour Cream Pretzels

Have you been to our show room and tried a sample of our homemade

cheddar & sour cream pretzels? If you haven't, try them the next time you come.

Everyone seems to love them, and we think they are delicious!

So that you can make them yourself and enjoy them anytime,

scroll down further for the recipe.

They are easy to make, and take no baking or extra hassle.

Recipe:

                                        2 lbs. small pretzels*

                                        1 cup oil

                                       1/4 cup sugar

                                       3/4 cup sour cream and onion powder**

                                       1/2 cup cheddar powder

Instructions:

                                       Mix all the ingredients except pretzels.

                                       Pour over pretzels in a large bowl.

                                       Stir every 15 minutes for one hour.

                                       Store in an airtight container.

Notes:

*we use the Tom Sturgis Little Ones pretzels.

**this is a powder, do not use sour cream.

The powders can be found at nearly every grocery store.

Enjoy! They are every bit as delicious as they look ;)

The Finland Bedroom Collection

The Finland Bedroom Collection got a brand new room, built just for it.

Clean and sophisticated is the general feel of the room,

with freshly painted white walls, purple accents, 

and the beautiful Finland Bedroom furniture.

Have you seen the hidden storage in our Finland Collection? Two jewelry pull-out panels are hidden behind the mirror in the dresser, and a jewelry drawer hidden in the chest of drawers.

Baskets are sweet for blanket storage, and sheepskins add softness and warmth.

Instead of adding a second nightstand, we hung a shelf.

We got a new product in our showroom!

Kraft Paper Note Rolls are here, and we have been having fun displaying them.

They come with a wall mount and several clips for the bottom of the roll,

and they are available in different sizes

A Few New Office Desks

We got a few new office desks in!

The Boulder Creek L-Shaped desk is made of Hickory wood, one of the hardest woods. This particular one is rustic, meaning besides the surfaces, all knots are left natural and open. Walnut inlays and curved edges add to its beauty. Another feature is a pop up outlet/charging station in one of its corners, making it easy to keep your devices charged.

The Prairie Mission desk is made of oak wood and stained in a seely stain.

This particular one has 2 pull-out writing trays for extra counter space.

The Artesa is made of a beautiful Rustic Cherry wood.

It has a glass shelf complete with lights, making it fun to style.

The Rivertown Writer's Desk, with all it's charm, is perfect for a small space.
